On Sept. 29, Delta Gamma Beta Xi welcomed over 60 new members into its chapter. After going through spirit day rounds, philanthropy, values, and preference, potential new members finally opened their bid day cards to discover the place they will call home for the next four years.
The chapter's bid day was put on by the Vice President of Member Education, Erika Lakkides, alongside the Director of New Members, Emma Skodack. They transformed the house by putting up balloon arches, streamers, ball pits, and mermaid themed decorations. The chapter even received a performance from The Spartan Dischords.
New members have already been attending meetings to learn about the history of Delta Gamma Beta Xi, and have been making connections with sisters in different member classes. They recently attended a philanthropy event called Serve it for Sight; a pickleball event where all proceeds go towards Service for Sight.
The member class can look forward to big-little preparations coming up, as well as the Chapter Retreat at Grand Ledge Opera House on Oct. 12.
New members can expect to foster connections the rest of the year, and become an important and unique part of such a genuine sisterhood.
