Accountability

"The obligation or willingness to accept responsibility for one's actions."

At the beginning of their term, Beta Xi’s Joint Chapter Management Team (JCMT) worked to choose a watchword for our chapter throughout the year. They chose ‘accountability.’ Our watchwords are intended to create a cohesive sense of sisterhood and to create goals for our chapter outside of philanthropy and recruitment efforts. It also helps each JCMT member leave a unique mark on Beta Xi throughout their time as Officers.

Not only do we plan to hold ourselves and our Officers accountable for our chapter goals, but for our own personal goals in order to be the best students, leaders, and sisters possible.

From our Chapter President, “Accountability was chosen by our JCMT because we felt that as a chapter it is important to look out for one another and hold ourselves to the highest ideals. To build a cohesive sisterhood we felt that it was important to highlight the values we all share and make sure each member of our chapter is upholding and uplifting one another. Accountability is the highest form of love because it shows we care for one another enough to step in when something isn’t right even though it may be difficult to ensure our members are safe, taken care of, and loved.” - Ella Woehlke, MC ‘21

So, as the Delta Gamma women enter the last half of this term, we will reflect on our watchword and hold ourselves and our sisters accountable in all parts of our lives - from growing our chapter, to helping our community, to becoming the best version of Beta Xi that we can be.
